This is why I walk....

A little over three years ago, basically on the cusp of death from heavy substance use and homelessness, I walked into a health clinic to get tested in an attempt to make one of the first responsible decisions in years. Despite the intense gut feeling that something was different, I was enveloped with enough courage to get tested. About a week or so later, I was informed that my HIV test was positive. What initially seemed to be some of the worse news I had ever received in my life, eventually became the greatest foundation of who I have become today. I walk to be a voice. I walk because today I have a choice. I walk because many of my predecessors no longer can. Today I don't have to fear it, better yet, today I choose to embrace it. Through the help of some amazing people, Cascade Aids Project, and a power greater than myself, I now get to give back what was freely given to me.

On September 8th, I am participating in AIDS Walk Portland, and I need your help!

Help me raise money for AIDS Walk Portland that supports the crucial programs and services of Cascade AIDS Project (CAP).

I am involved in our community's single most powerful and enduring response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and my hope is that you will too. To make a donation on my behalf and help me reach my fundraising goal, please click on the "Donate Now" button to the right.

Thank you for your support!
