Why I Walk: For the last 4 years, I have had the honor and privilege to volunteer for one week in July and teach archery at Camp KC (Kids Connection), a summer camp for children for are infected or affected by HIV. This amazing program is sponsored and funded by CAP (Cascade Aids Project). The campers come from lower income households and their home life is not the best, however, for one week a year, they get to come to camp and be kids. They get to sing, laugh, dance, swim, and shoot bows and arrows. Camp KC also provides each child with all school supplies needed for the year as well as new clothes, toys and food to take home. (Attached are some photos from this year at Camp KC). I look forward to seeing the families and kids each year not only at Camp KC but at the AidsWalkPortland. This amazing program would not exist without the support and donations from people like you and me.
Help me raise money for AIDS Walk Portland that supports the crucial programs and services of Cascade AIDS Project (CAP).
I am getting involved in our community's single most powerful and enduring response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and my hope is that you will too. To make a donation on my behalf and help me reach my fundraising goal, please click on the "Donate Now" button to the right.
Thank you for your support!
