Emily Borke | Multnomah County HIV Clinic

My co-workers and I are getting ready for the 2017 Portland AIDS Walk which is happening on Saturday, September 9th. This is a time each year when we come together with our colleagues, families, clients, and our community to remember that our fight to prevent new HIV infections and to support people living with HIV is far from over.

If you are like me, you may be feeling pretty depressed, defeated, and worried about what is happening in our world and this country. I struggle to find ways to remain hopeful and continue to make a difference, especially for those who don't have as much privilege as I do. I think that this is one (of many) opportunities to come together with thousands of other individual people who feel similarly and do something positive and proactive that will have a meaningful and visible impact.

Whether you walk with us, donate money, or both (!), I greatly appreciate your support and encouragement now and in the past.
