Cascade AIDS Project(CAP) and its partners are excited to introduce this outreach element to AIDS Walk Portland. Our strategy is Threefold
Stickers- CAP will produce a window display sticker that will scale at 60% of
real-life and will cover most of 5 ft by 3 ft window. It will include a group of walkers and fit
the AWP 2017 Brand with the goal of asking people to join the walk. Only 5 of these will be produced.
Window Display contest- The contest is described below.
Any business can ask for clings and CAP staff/Interns/ volunteers will
recruit retailers to participate in the contest and the sticker portions of
the Retail Window Display Contest-
CAP and AWP 2017 are challenging area retailers and really anyone with a
street-level presence, to dedicate one or more windows to the fight against
HIV/AIDS by dressing this window in honor of the Walk.
To aid your creative process, CAP offers the following parameters-
- All information in the window should be accurate and
tasteful- your 10 year old and your grandmother should be able to pass the
window and get what is being shown and likely not embarrassed by it.
- Wherever possible, use the colors found in the AIDS Walk logo
- Incorporate the AIDS Walk Logo
- Include at least one AIDS Awareness Ribbon
- Messages should encourage people to register, raise
funds and walk.
- All are encouraged to include a social media
strategy to get passers-by to notice and take note in their display, possibly
even agreeing to join the team of the retailer for the walk.
- Displays must be up for a minimum of 7 days and
between August 1 and September 9, 2017.
CAP will offer high resolution logos in .eps and .jpg formats. CAP will also offer a limited number of
window screens/decals for those interested in incorporating agency created

A total of one
winner will be selected from the qualified entries received by the Cascade AIDS
Project. Each winner will receive an 8x10 framed photograph of their window and
4 tickets to the VIP Breakfast offered on Sept 9, 2017.
The winner will
be chosen by an appointed jury of 3 volunteers from the community. They will
judge each window by the criteria set in “About the Contest” in addition to the
use of the AIDS Walk Logo
